Steps to get started using your Princeton email

Follow these steps to enable access to and start using your Princeton email account:

  1. Did you activate your account?  Please refer to University Accounts
  2. Did you set up Duo two-factor authentication?  Please refer to Duo: Two-Factor Authentication – Get Started.
  3. Gmail or Exchange Online?  Your Princeton email is either Gmail or Exchange Online. Generally, students (undergraduate and graduate) have Gmail;  Faculty/Staff have Exchange Online. If you are uncertain or have questions, contact the OIT Support and Operations Center (SOC) at 609-258-HELP (4357) and select option #1 or Information Technology chat.
  4. How will you access your email?  You can access your email on the web and/or configure your email on your device(s) to manage/read your email.  Please see the following for specific information by email service/device.

Gmail on desktop/laptop computers

Gmail on mobile devices (smartphones or tablets)

Exchange Online on desktop and laptop computers

Exchange Online on mobile devices (smartphones or tablets)
